Restarting a business after a natural disaster
After a hailstorm impacting a manufacturer's plant, the Stelliant group's teams mobilized to propose a restart strategy and reduce the impact of the operating loss.
Context
A severe hailstorm struck, causing extensive damage to a manufacturer’s plant. The premises were impacted, causing the company to close for months and the employees to be laid off.
Stelliant’s action
The Stelliant Group, along with the teams from Stelliant Expertise and its Engineering, Consultation, and Prevention department (EMTS), were called upon to handle the situation. They proposed a turnkey solution, including a one-stop-shop for managing all diagnostics (structural, health, asbestos, environmental, corrosive). Concrete actions were taken, such as the containment of 1,200 m2 for storage, the installation of a treatment plant to filter rainwater contaminated by asbestos, the replacement of the roof, and the management of waste generated by the construction site.
Results
Thanks to the intervention of the Stelliant group and the implementation of a strategy to restart the activity, the company was able to minimize the impact of the loss of operations and resume its activity with minimal delay. The proposed solutions allowed to remedy the damage caused by the natural disaster and to preserve the employees’ jobs.
